Ray Krussell is a nationally recognized and highly respected horse trainer and USEF Judge and specializes in training and showing American Saddlebred Horses and Hackney Ponies. Ray has over 30 years of professional horse training experience and has produced many World Champion horses and riders. His clients are attracted not only to his ability to win, but also to his passionate dedication to the horses and riders in his care. Ray learned early on that it was important to give back to the industry that has given so much to him. He has worked on numerous show boards and committees and currently sits on the Executive Board of United Professional Horseman’s Association as Treasurer.
Wendy Carney is the Business Manager at Krussell Stables in addition to being in charge of the large lesson program. Wendy has over 30 years business experience & her knowledge of finance & business management have been a key to their success. Wendy is a sports enthusiast & proved herself as a Division 1 college volleyball player at Bradley University where she was inducted in the Hall of Fame for her accomplishments on the court. As a high level athlete Wendy has the experience and techniques to ensure their students are physically & mentally prepared for competition. Wendy has been riding, showing & teaching Saddleseat riding for over 25 years.
Christine Olsen’s horse adventures began with weekly saddle seat lessons which helped prepare her to ride a variety of breeds and disciplines. After graduating from the University of Findlay with degrees in interpersonal and public communication and English equestrian studies, Christine continued to work in the equestrian industry in a variety of ways. Christine returned to her saddle seat roots in 2019 when she joined the Krussell Stables team as a riding instructor. She enjoys writing and sharing her passion for horses with her students.
Krussell Stables is located on 14 acres in scenic Richmond, Illinois. We are approximately a one hour drive from both Chicago O'Hare Airport and Milwaukee Mitchell Airport.
The farm was completely renovated and is now a state of the art equestrian facility that is home to our American Saddlebred show horses and our bustling lesson program.
Our facility features a climate controlled and nicely appointed customer lounge that has a large viewing window into the riding arena so you won’t miss any of the action. The customer lounge offers wireless internet service and Direct TV to make your time at the barn pleasant and productive. With over 40 animals on the property there is always something to do and see during your visit.
